Eliminates the need for manually creating the HTML formA form is defined by entering a definition into a database table (online via the browser) and this definition creates the form dynamically when needed. Forms are defined through a simple definition table, with no custom coding required! Fields of different types can be added to forms as required, and the layout of the form is easily modified, again WITHOUT coding. A simple hyperlink is added to the appropriate web page to enable access to the form. Form data is stored in a database, which can easily be reported as required, for example to report on the results of a survey form. Form SecurityForms Online uses a superset of the security system to not only control who can access which forms, but also which form entries they can see: a user can be set up to be able to only enter new information into a form, to view his own form entries, to view all form entries, to update either his own or all form entries, and finally, to be able to approve and/or disapprove form entries. Example FormFor example, a Vacation Request Form can be easily defined that allows any employee to fill out a vacation request online. He/she may review only their own forms, until a manager approves the request. A manager can easily call up a list of forms requiring review and approve or deny requests online, where the results are immediately available to the employee. In this example it would also be easy to
integrate these approvals into a corporate
or departmental calendar (this is an excellent
example of where the extension layer of database
objects would be used.) |
